We are again receiving a large number of reports into our Service Desk of issues when calling mobile phone numbers. The mobile networks reported an issue on Tuesday 17 March which was resolved shortly after but mobile users are experiencing a similar issue again today.
We believe this is as a result of high congestion in the mobile networks caused by the increased number of calls to mobiles following the Coronavirus outbreak.

This issue relates to the mobile network and is unfortunately outside of our control. However, we have been assured that the networks are aware of the issue and have allocated resource to resolving this as quickly as possible.
If you are experiencing difficulties when attempting to make or receive calls to or from a mobile, you do not need to raise this to us – in order to support our Service Team at this time, please can we ask you for your continued patience. We will keep you updated on this matter.
This may become a recurring issue for the mobile networks as the country moves into isolation against COVID-19, therefore if your continuity plan was to use mobiles, you may want to have further back-up in place. We can help!
